Advanced Data Analysis

A client needs insight into the time of year to expect clouds at certain altitudes to guide aviation activities and avoid potential hazards.

Why hire a data analysis specialist?

  • You need to understand how meteorological conditions impact your operations, but don't know where or how to obtain the relevant data

  • You need to figure out what time of year and/or location is optimal for a business operation or activity

  • You want to develop a tool that predicts the impact of weather on business operations

Example Deliverable

I used satellite imagery (animation at left) to calculate a seasonal climatology of clouds at different altitude bands to inform the client's aviation needs (hover cursor over image).

My data analysis specialties

  • Radar and satellite data to understand rainfall, snow, tornadoes, hail, and wind damage

  • Computer simulations of weather phenomena

  • Advanced statistical methods and machine learning strategies that draw connections between meteorology and business activities

  • Long term projections that account for climate change

A client needs help picking the right month to schedule a multi-day bike packing trip to minimize the likelihood of riding through oppressive temperatures and heavy rain.

What you'll get

  • Curated datasets that you can't find elsewhere, delivered in a format that you choose to suit your needs

  • Comprehensive and professional instructions for dataset access and use

  • Live and recorded video tutorials explaining the data, and suggested ways to interpret it

  • Long term retention of my services for maintaining data and troubleshooting

Example Deliverable

I provided data-driven insights into the typical temperature and precipitation along the client's planned bikepacking route at different times of the year.

The client decided to plan the ride for May due to a more comfortable high temperature range (70s versus 80s) and a slightly lower probability of rainfall.
